ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 3, 2017) — Tampa Bay Rowdies fans have selected Michael Nanchoff as their Man of the Match for his performance in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Toronto FC II.
Nanchoff had two assists in the match and was unlucky not to score after a few well-taken shots, including a laser of a free kick that hit the crossbar.
Nanchoff’s stats show an impressive offensive performance, creating four chances on the night, two of which were converted into goals. The midfielder also took five shots, three of which were on target and one which hit the crossbar.
Nanchoff’s first assist came in the 12th minute when his corner kick was defended and eventually recycled back to him near the corner flag. His cross found the forehead of Damion Lowe at the back post for a goal. Eight minutes later, Nanchoff tallied his second assist on a clever pass from the right wing to Georgi Hristov near the penalty spot.
He nearly scored a wondrous free kick from 29 yards out in the 36th minute, but his effort was spoiled by the crossbar.
