ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 3, 2017) — It’s Florida Cup week and the Tampa Bay Rowdies are hard at work preparing for Sunday’s preseason opener against German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon at Al Lang. In addition to the 12 players already signed to Tampa Bay’s 2017 roster, a group of 19 trialists have been invited to participate in the Rowdies’ preseason camp.
The Rowdies’ confirmed roster as it stands is below:
Goalkeepers (1): Matt Pickens
Defenders (4): Neill Collins, Darnell King, Tamika Mkandawire, Zac Portillos
Midfielders (6): Justin Chavez, Joe Cole, Alex Morrell, Michael Nanchoff, Keith Savage, Martin Vingaard
Forwards (1): Georgi Hristov
Trialists participating in the Rowdies’ preseason camp are listed below:

The Florida Cup begins Sunday in St. Petersburg with an exciting doubleheader at Al Lang Stadium. At 2 p.m., Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen will take on Argentina’s Estudiantes de la Plata, followed by the Rowdies’ match against Wolfsburg at 4:45. Other teams that will take the field at Al Lang during the Florida Cup include Brazil’s Atletico Mineiro and São Paulo FC and either River Plate (Argentina) or Millonarios FC (Colombia.)
