ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (September 14, 2017) — A sense of normalcy returned to the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Thursday as the team returned to training for the first since since Hurricane Irma swept through Florida.
The Rowdies had been off since last Wednesday’s 3-2 win in Harrisburg, but they reported to Al Lang Stadium eager to work Thursday morning.
“It’s good to come out here and get back to work, sweat a little bit,” Rowdies goalkeeper Matt Pickens said.
The Rowdies will now settle back into their normal rhythm, though they’re on a previously-scheduled bye this weekend. Tampa Bay returns to the field next Saturday, September 23, when it hosts the Charlotte Independence at Al Lang Stadium. That match will be followed by a post-game Shaggy concert.
